The Carling League Cup 201/12

The League Cup, once again sponsored by Carling for the 2011-12 season, will be the 52nd staging of the knockout competition for England's top 92 football clubs.

In last seasons competition final, Birmingham City beat Arsenal 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on 27 February, 2011. As a result, Birmingham City have now qualified for the UEFA Europa League, (if they have not already qualified for European competition in some other way).

Birmingham City have now recorded two League Cup wins, the first of which was back in 1963.
